Ieva Baklane lived in the former USSR for 16 years so it’s not for nothing that this work is called Escape. She has an MA from the Latvian Academy of Arts and now lives in Canada. Her past three solo shows all sold out.

Turkish artist Mehmet Dere makes exquisite drawings. During an intense period of feeling isolated he began to draw at home every day all day. The result was a series called Black Truths White Lies.

Former studio assistant to Julie Mehretu, Igor Solis cites the main influences on his work as growing up in Mexico and living in New York, studying at the Pratt Institute. The Mayan ruins of Xcambó are the seed of inspiration for this work on paper.
