About Charles Yoder
Born 1948 in Germany and raised on army bases around the world, he now lives and works in New York City. Having worked for galleries, artists, art handling companies and in construction for many years, he now teaches part time at School of Visual Arts and paints full time.
It's all about a meditation on a glimpse. Until ten years ago I was an abstract painter. I began painting large scale woodland scenes after noticing the light and shadows cast by a full moon onto the snow covered forest floor one winter's night. This was the beginning of my investigations of nature. An endless source that gently insists on my attention.
