About Debby Forsyth
Born 1968 in Guildford. I Graduated in painting from Grays School of Art in 2005. I work from WASPS studio in Aberdeen where I am currently experimenting with papier mache for bas-reliefs which is great fun!
I am drawn to the human figure, its interaction, emotion and expression and a sense of narrative. I am inspired by Paula Rego, Frida Kahlo, James Ensor, the Impressionists and Cave art. It is nearly 4 years since I graduated. I am re-evaluating my work looking forwards and open to change.
Graduated with BA Honours Fine Art Grays School Aberdeen in 2005. In 2005 I was awarded the John Kinross Scholarship to study in Florence. The same year I was amongst selected Scottish graduates chosen to exhibit in Braveart at the Atlantis gallery.
In 2006 Standard Life selected from the group for an art-prize. In 2007 I received Grays Aberdeen Artists Visual Award.
Future Shows: Future shows are solo show at Millers of Midmar October 2009 and Group show on Scottish Myths at Bridge View Aberdeen in 2011
