Liset Van Dommelen
About Liset Van Dommelen
In 2012 I had enough of all the equipment I need for my screen prints. I love to travel and hike in nature and it was never optional to work there till………… I started to mono-print. It all started with a print diary when I picked up things around me and started to print them. One day 5 December 2012 I found a starling. And since I always have plasticbags in my purse I picked it up and printed it. The result was amazing and opened a whole new world. I started to print dead animals. Printing dead animals became a ritual, a delicate encounter never being any closer to the animal world as ever before. My hands explore and caress the animal into a print. Seeing and feeling evry little detail of the animal. This series is only at the beginning at the moment. And will grow at my website www.ateliervandommelen.nl you can have a look at human prints and nomad prints. My screenprint Frozen grass won an honourable mension at the print Biennale in Tokyo December 2013 Besides printing a photograph a lot. My photo cloud dancers won the artist caught by Umea competition (Umea is the capital of Europe 2014). Some photo's I use for my screen prints.
