About Liset Van Dommelen
All the equipment I needed for my screen prints started to bother me.
I love to travel and hike in nature and it was never optional to work there till…………………I started to mono-print.
Now I work on all kind of print concepts; photography series and works on my first graphic score Ice Etudes.
Together with musician Jaap Mulder I organise paint and drawing concerts.
My mono print experiment started with a print diary in 2012 when I picked up things around me and started to print them.
One day I found a dead starling. Since I always have a plastic bags in my purse I picked it up and printed it.
The result was amazing and opened a whole new world of options for me.
I started to print more and more dead animals.
Printing dead animals became a ritual, a delicate encounter never being any closer to the animal world as ever before.
My hands explore and caress the animal into a print.
Seeing and feeling every little detail.
This series is at the beginning at the moment.
I will work and explore till I have the feeling the first works are ready for an exhibition hopefully end of this year.
Form 16 till 31 March I have an exhibithion from my concept Red Archive project in the Jeruzalem Chapel in Gouda. The museum, library and city archive are supporting this expo and also the Firma of 3 (Gouda's artists group, joins the project.
