Alethea Maguire-Cruz is a landscape painter (from a family of figurative artists), who derives inspiration from travel. Among other exhibitions in galleries, collections and museums, Alethea is currently represented by CAN (Contemporary Art Network/New Art Center), Mistretta Galleries and the Trillium Gallery in New York.
Teaching fine art, design and history courses (for the University of Delaware, Long Island University C.W. Post Campus, Nassau Community College, Pratt Institute AOS, Mid Michigan Community College, Delta College, and Central Wyoming College), while consecutively engaging with clients and collectors as a founding partner of Land Atelier.
Having completed an MFA Fellowship in 1995 from the University of Delaware, which included a year as a Julin Scholar at the University of Iowa and a BFA in 1993 from Purchase College of the State University of New York, which included overseas study at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, she has since worked as a fine artist, graphic designer and college educator.
