Amy is a portrait artist and expressionist painter. She works mainly in oil and charcoal. Her work is intuitive and depicts personality and philosophical meaning. The paintings are often reminiscent of religious iconography, with complex symbolism and a striking presence.
Born in the UK, she studied Theology (Masters) at Oxford University. She worked as a Religion and Philosophy Tutor in Oxford, and as an Archaeological Illustrator for seven years, including one year in France.
She currently lives and works in the Transkei region of South Africa. Five of her paintings are kept on permanent display at Regent’s Park College, Oxford.
