About Anat Oren
I remember as a 2-year-old in kindergarten the first time I held a pen, I drew a profile of a man and the teacher grabbed the drawing and ran off to show it to everybody! From the age of 6 I have performed on the stage, imitating singers and comedians. In 1965 my father, Arik Amir, bought a house in Safed and I exhibited and sold my art there from aged 14 until he sold it in 1998. I am a member of the Painters and Sculptors Association in Israel since 1986, and a member of the artist colony in Safed in the North of Israel, as well as the Association of Actors and Performers in Israel. At the age of 30, I created my own show called "Fabulous Fables ". In the show I tell short stories/fables while illustrating the scenes from each story on a white board. At the end of each story I'd ask the children what the moral of the story was. It was an educational show given in an entertaining way, suitable for all ages. There was also a show geared towards adults specifically, which dealt with relationships between men and women covering topics such as love, hate, betrayal and jealousy . Between 2005 and 2007 3 series of Fabulous Fables were on South African TV.
In 1965 my father, Arik Amir, bought a house in Safed in the North of Israel and I exhibited and sold my art there from aged 14 until he sold it in 1998. As well as the private exhibitions at the house we also exhibited and sold in the general exhibitions of the Safed artists community.
