Bird LovegodAbstract expressionism was a Cultural Cold War weapon. Amazing heritage, CIA and MOMA promoted it into Europe, and took the centre of art from Europe, where it had been for a thousand years or more, to America, where it still is. Look what came after Abstract Expressionism... Pop Art, a celebration of American culture... The CIA are the greatest art patrons since the Catholic Church 500 years previously. Social sculpting at its finest.

Kate WilliamsonI love Jackson Pollock, my paintings are painted on the horizontal often letting the paint dot, squiggle and splatter onto my large canvases. He was so original.
Hi Rebecca thank you so much for including me this amazing list of art inspired by one of the greatest American in artist history. I have always been deeply inspired by Jackson Pollock and know he will always be a huge inspiration in my work. The painting you choose is part of a of a diptych "one nation" I only wish I would have been able to post the two together as they should be seen as lines crossing, paint flowing and dancing in harmony. Andrew Stewart JamiesonThe story of Pollack was tragic, to die in such circumstance and deprive the world or an original. So good to see that his life short though it was has continued to inspire so many artists.
