Refuse

I consider the following photographs from the perspective of traditional painting and sculpture. To me the process of making a painting is very similar to the actions that occur naturally. The scraping of a surface and reapplying paint, drawing lines in wet paint and etching lines revealing layers beneath which mirror the process that I am interested in capturing. The difference resides in the collaboration of nature over a time frame that is impossible to achieved by intentional art making.
