Description: The representation of the face is, for Franklin, a meticulous habit, almost an obsession. The repetition of the same action -seeing and drawing a face-, with graphic techniques, tries to define the regarded subject from the way he shows himself. The napkin boys, is a series of drawings with cut paper. The Chinese handicraft tradition is used to combine oriental patterns with masculine faces. Drawings are made by the void rather than the defined lines. Twenty five drawings compose this series.
