About Boroujerdi Mohammad Boroujerdi was born in North Iran in 1967. He grew up in a large but close knit family, in the lush and green landscape of Gorgon, surrounded by beautiful mountains, forests and the shores of the Caspian Sea. Boroujerdi started painting from a very early age and realised that this was his vocation when he was just 15. He graduated from secondary school in 1985 and joined the army two years later. At this time, his country had already been at war with Iraq for six years and the realities of life started to hit him hard. The death and deprivation of war proved too much and he decided to leave the country to start a new life in an effort to find his meaning and his place in the world; this is when his voyage of self discovery began.Over the next couple of years, Boroujerdi lived in a number of different countries, before making the decision to move to England to join his family who were already based in the UK. Soon after starting his new life in the UK, he began to paint intensely and enrolled on a course to study Fine art at Coventry University. He graduated with an MA in fine art and continued to pursue his passion for painting "I spent the first few years experimenting with various styles of painting such as Cubism and Abstract art. After about six years of dedicated hard work, my outlook in life and the philosophy of my art began to take form and I felt that I was moving closer to the sole core of my artistic existence; I began to have a clear vision of the future. Art is to me an adventuress voyage of self discovery, always restless, constantly in progress and this is the reason that no two days in an artist's life are ever the same." Boroujerdi is now living and working in the UK. He regularly mentors other young and upcoming artists in the Birmingham area.
