About The Artwork
The main influence for my Inevitable Transcendence came from watching futuristic films like Artificial Intelligence, Blade Runner and I, Robot as well as reading several works by Isaac Asimov. After exploring the meaning of Transhumanism and the issues and themes surrounding it like Genetic Engineering, Stem-Cell research and transcending human nature i wanted to determine whether Transhumanism was seen as a positive or negative step forward. I wanted to encapsulate the fear that this subject conjures when we think about transforming the natural human condition to a dehumanized artificial state.
