About The Artwork

Important: This installation needs to be installed flatly. — In combination with the title it is a tribute to surrealism. Toy gun. Woodblock with hole in it. Filled with graphite. On wood. You will fill interactively the graphite into the hole and arrange the whole installation. All parts come to you separately. ________________________ The title refers to a Pirelli advertisement: http://www.ewanpaterson.net/?p=151 PS: Each part of the installation is signed on the reverse. If you like I could also sign the underground woodblock on the front.

But I am inspired by their work. ____________ I would like to end with an excerpt of the great documentary «Trip to Asia» (Director: Thomas Grube): ____________ «The point about a real tradition is to take what is the strongest and most vital part and carry it through into a new world. — And part of our job also is to play and play and play the new, to see what is wonderful to see what will be the music of the future ... » Sir Simon Rattle ______________________
