Gavin has both a Diploma of Visual Arts from Victoria University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts - Painting from The Victorian College of the Arts. Gavin has had both success here in Australia and abroad. Gavin describes his artwork as being confronting and honest. These works were also featured in a traveling exhibition titled "Art Undressed" and were shown in major galleries in Miami, Montreal and Berlin. In 2009 Gavin's work "Don't Fucken Tell Anyone - A Tribute to abuse" was a finalist in the $10,000 Manning Art Prize and five of his works were selected by The Cunningham Dax Collection as part of their permanent acquisitions. His work "RAW" is featured in The coffee Table book "The Worlds Greatest Erotic Art of Today Volume 4" and was also featured in the "Art Undressed" Exhibition in Miami, Florida in 2011. In October 2017 Gavin had his first solo exhibition "Revenge is a Corpse Best Served Cold" at the Phyllis Palmer Gallery in Bendigo Australia.
