I was Born 09/25/1957 in Walnut Creek, California, U.S.A.--suburb to Oakland/San Francisco. I have been capturing images since 1977, and the work presented here spans approximately 40 years. Most of my work has come in spurts of inspiration, usually after attempting inauthentic career moves. My only formal study was in Zurich, Switzerland with commercial photographer/artist Jurgen Tapprich, After our collaboration I returned to San Francisco where I began assisting with Larry Keenan and Richard Hixson. After this period of work and study I returned to university to finish my degree in philosophy and went on for an advanced M.A.degree in Clinical Psychology and licensure as a Marriage Family Therapist. I also have a an advanced M.Sc. degree in Clinical Practice Management, an artist and psychotherapist. My work is intuitive and comes into focus when mindful. My early photographic influences include Edward Weston, Jerry Ulesmann, Larry Keenan, Philippe Halsman, Helmut Newton, and especially Mark Boyle, and Aaron Syskind. I am also strongly influenced by Expressionist Wassily Kandinsky and Abstract Expressionists Robert Motherwell, and Willem de Kooning; as well as Color Field painter Mark Rothko. Intellectual influences include Martin Heidegger, Karl Jaspers, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Alfred North Whitehead, Hinduism, Buddhism, Mindfulness, Catholic Theology, Mystical Theology I have been awarded 3 honorable mentions by the International photography awards, and a first place at the University of San Francisco. My commercial work has had regional and national exposure. I am seeking representation, exhibition opportunities, gallery relationships, and friendship and collaboration.
