About The Artwork

For the faithful who give themselves to following a righteous life the spirit can be drawn out of you. It is surprising how much suspicion and opposition =sometimes arises from even the most unexpected people. As the faithful servant draws closer to God, the farther they seem to move from the main stream. They may be surprised to whom or where their service may be called. Those devoted to a purer life find that they give up many things of this world and they are traded for services some earthly devoted could have trouble staying pure in intent following through on. Waiting for Shiloh is about Children who are not far from being with the lord. Those who may even have important significance, but they have fallen asleep to their connection. Those awake to the lord see this importance, see the tangle in earthly worlds that keep them from their true greatness. Watching them fall away from hopeful actions is like a wreck in slow motion, and faithful servants, even angels can not do much other than watch gently guide and wait according to biblical texts. We wait for God, and lives dry up and waste away. Time wanes on. But the presence stays active of forces that are mysterious. On his death bed Jacob, who had wrestled God, and won his blessing gave a prophesy on his death bed of the coming of Shiloh. Many accept Shiloh to be one of many prophesies of the coming Christ. Another story tells the story of Christ being called to the house of a faithful man who's daughter had died. They wept and mourned. "Quiet", christ said, "there is life in her still" They laughed and mocked him. He went to her sitting lovingly beside her he said "Talitha Cumi" She rose and the others fell in to a state of spiritual ecstasy. For those who say they believe or those who want to, there have been times we have wondered when will the suffering stop? When will the weight of our theoretical wings be made light? When will the groom arrive that the bridesmaids and best men have relief? Until "the vine" arrives we must have faith. Until he draws back the curtain and holds us in his arms we are the lambs. And yes, the lambs are crying for it is said that no good deed goes unpunished. But still we wait. Still we wait, and having life in us we remember Christ's words "Talitha Cumi" , 'Get up little one.'

Legally blind, Michael's creative vision was developed in the study of Classical and modern theatrical literature. His extensive experience in stage performance and direction led to an appreciation of light and composition. After his hereditary condition caused him to stop working in theaters he started focusing his creative energies towards graphic arts and music development. Always aiming at metaphor, social politics and spirituality in his early creative work this expressive medium permitted him a creative bridge to the exproration of light and perspective. The recent nine years have been riffled with turmoils and a extraordinary personal experience with Yahweh and Christ. "How man is connected to world events and to history through the spirit is a mystery that always seems just beyond definition, beyond expression. Mine is an art that does not excuse my own moral sloth. My demands of me a choice. Though the ambiguity in enigma of it's expression gives room for the viewer to have their own journey. It is intriguing to me what values others project on the the matters or subjects in my work but there is a hope the budges in a direction of well, see for yourself.
