Andrew Osta is an internationally collected Ukrainian-Canadian painter. His work is currently available in the beautiful colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, and in Iquitos, Peru. Andrew's San Miguel studio and gallery, located in the historical central district of San Miguel de Allende, is open by appointment. Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Andrew Osta immigrated to Canada in 1994 and has travelled to 4 different continents since. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 2005 and began to show professionally that same year. In 2006, he was invited to participate in his first international art exhibitions. Andrew Osta's intuitive and innovative approach to art caught the attention of Keith Widgor, founder of SurrealismNow.com, who invited Andrew to participate in numerous surrealist exhibitions, between 2006 and 2011. In 2007-2008, Andrew spent a year exploring South Korea and Japan. In 2008-2009, he worked as a "Healing and Counselling Through Art" youth counsellor with SISO Hamilton, specializing in using art-making to help emotionally troubled refugees. During this time, he also taught art workshops in Hamilton's McMaster University and taught art to underprivileged children with the Immigrant Culture and Art Association, also in Hamilton. In 2009-2010, Andrew spent a nearly a year in Peru, studying indigenous artistic traditions, and their relationship to healing. He presented his art at the 5th International Amazonian Shamanism Conference in Iquitos, Peru, sharing the venue with such well known painters as Pablo Amaringo.
