About The Artwork
Frank Auerbach, a masterful painter, was born in Germany, but when the Nazi occupation took over his parents sent him to some family in England when he was a child. He never saw his parents again. Years after being sent to England he received a watch in the mail. It was his father's and that was all that was left of his parents.
