About The Artwork

This piece won the Wolfendale Prize for natural form in 2009. Made of raw silk and beeswax, inside each honeycomb a faceless woman is embroidered doing a domestic chore. On the top layer, inside one of the honeycombs, a woman is embroidered with her head in her hands and the words 'Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming' are embroidered on the outside

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I work in a mixture of ceramics and fabric/embroidery, both mediums traditionally associated with women and the home and both considered secondary to the fine art mediums of painting and sculpture. I love the tactile, textured quality of these materials and enjoy pushing the boundaries of what is possible using these mediums. My work is about the public/private self and is influenced by the literature of Virginia Woolf. I am currently working on a large installation, ' Kitchen', which develops this idea and explores the world of a middle aged woman contemplating her life.
