About The Artwork
'Coastal Access' is a direct reference to the reaction to the drought in California. The concrete structures are reminiscent of the desalination plants that are being used to filter 100 million gallons of water in per day to create 50 million gallons of drinking water per day. The landscape is toxic and is a warning of the consequences of the ways in which we use our land and water.
