About The Artwork

New media digitally produced abstract art. My work takes its influence from the abstract expressionist movement. Perhaps overtones of Kandinsky and Klee. This piece like all my work has evolved through multiple iterations tinkered with and developed sometimes over many months. My art is knowing when to stop. Sold as limited edition Giclee prints using high quality fine art archival paper. To ensure quality and correct paper selection I will provide the paper prints. Print prices see below. Shipping worldwide will be additional to print cost. My preferred framing approach is to frame as a box without a moulding but ultimately this is the buyers choice as prints are supplied unframed. Print size 24 x 24 inches with a border (61 x 61 cms). Edition by size of 50; Archival paper Giclee print. This image is available in larger prints up to the original size of 40 x 40 inches. Prices on enquiry. NB; 49 pieces remaining.

I am a photographer, New Media artist, and surface pattern designer living in Frome, Somerset. I started my artistic journey by studying Graphic Design in the 70's, but circumstances led me into a 32 career manufacturing. Throughout the years, I have dabbled in various art forms, including life drawing, pastels, and acrylics. However, upon retiring 19 years ago, I focused on developing my photography skills, both as a shooter and in post-production using Photoshop. As my skills improve so I discovered through experimentation the potential to create artworks using pixels instead of traditional mediums like paint or chalk. The artworks you see here are the culmination of 19 years of experimentation, self-reflection, and growth. Like many artists, I have faced challenges and frustrations along the way, but I believe in my potential and have started selling my work since 2013. While I still consider myself a relatively new participant in this field, I am gaining confidence and still enriching my skills. My art can be described as idiosyncratic maybe bold and often rich in colour, reflecting my feelings and perspectives. I draw inspiration from past colourists such as Hodgkins, Kandinsky, and Klee and many more. As a photographer, I am fascinated by light and drawn to shapes, colors, and what I call "found art" in everyday life. I am constantly influenced by the visual imagery that surrounds us through various media sources. Often my photography is subtly blended in to my finish work. My creative process is spontaneous, with no preconceived idea of the final outcome. I rely on instinct, combining shapes and colors while adding texture through photographic images and photos of my pastel works. This helps me achieve a less "digital" feel in my art. Digital and new media art is simply another form of expression. As a digital artist, I utilise available technology to manifest my creativity principle Adobe Photoshop but also work created on an iPad Pro. I know my work is valid and has its place alongside traditional art forms. I make no mighty claims for my art. It is merely a result of investigation in to the possible born out of the myriad visual imagery that has past by me in the years I have had my eyes open, and if it resonates with you, that's wonderful. The only truth it represents is the joy I get in the creation and seeing the final output.
