Expressionistic Landscape of a Young Girl's Dreams Painting

Maggie Vlazny was born in Plainfield, NJ, USA. A creative from the age of five, her first interest in art was found in her treasured storybooks, where she could float into the free floating alternate world of illustration. She studied art at the College of New Rochelle,NY where she earned a BA in the liberal arts. Her work has been published in various small literary journals and newspapers, including the Westchester Gannett News and the New York Times. She alsowrote, produced, and presented a 6 part mental health series for Monroe Cable Television. The world of visual arts entered her life in 2010, when her husband gifted her with her first camera. She became an avid photographer until she discovered the world of digital art which has become her true passion. In 2012 two of her artworks were accepted into competitive, juried exhibits: "Fading" by the Pocono Arts Council, and "Pink Memories" by Together Arts. Due to the eclectic range of her artwork, Vlazny receives a lot of interest in what moves her to create a particular subject. She swears it's a timeless Muse who directs her interests, but knows that's not exactly the answer her collectors have in mind. So, also true, she reports that she always begins with her own photograph. "I generally just reach for various digital tools which will midwife the colors in my heart into my own baby, who I love unconditionally . So it's very difficult, if not impossible, for me to go back and apply what I did on one particular piece to another. Basically, I just let whatever happens, happen, moving and changing my tools like the pieces of a puzzle.I know that the work is complete when I say to myself "Ah, there it is! Don't touch another thing!" Vlazny, influenced by the conceptual art movement, specializes in montage, because of their message within. But she prefers that they be attractive as well. She also enjoys creating or capturing images for the sheer beauty of them. Vlazny believes that even if no one ever saw her work it would still be enough, because if you don't spend some part of your life living (or seeking) your passion then you're not really living at all.
