About The Artwork
Halzephron means hell's cliffs in Cornish , and this section of coastline if definitely not for bathing in. Legend has it that it takes a life every seven years. It is said that on a winters day you can hear Tregeagle howl in hopelessness as he toils in his seemingly endless tasks. Some say that Looe bar was formed from the sand that fell from his sack as he was tripped up by his tormentors. Spanish treasure ships, the frigate HMS Anson, the battleship HMS Warspite and many others have run aground here. This is a powerful image of elemental potential. Subtle arrangements and harmonies in tone and colour. This picture shows the view from the beach below the Halzephron Inn across Mounts Bay looking towards Looe Bar, Porthleven , Cudden Point, Prussia Cove and Penzance beyond.

Inspiration for my work is found in the landscape and history of my surroundings. I trained as an Architectural Model maker at the Kent institute of Art and Design and developed a specialism in archaeological reconstructions.I have furthered my interest in 11th century Anglo-Norman warfare researching several military campaigns which I intend illustrating in the near future. I also have a a passion for Maritime and Naval history and country life.I have previously exhibited paintings at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and in various open entry competitions.
