" A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind, The years to come seemed waste of breath, A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death." W.B. Yeats.
Powdered Pigment and solvents on aluminium. There are no chemical reactions in this medium; It's a fluid medium, and that is what I both like and hate about it; you have to control the flow, or it goes "walkabouts". The surface effect is very like enamel, but it is far more versatile, and as far as I know, it is unique; I have spent many years experimenting with it in order to develop it's qualities. It is difficult to photograph, because it reflects through the surface and looks different in varying lights; rather like a "tiger eye" stone.
