Hopin' is loosely based off the Obama Hope posters they ran for his presidential campaign. I put my own twist on things with what people were feeling. I found this wood on the street and decided to use it as a canvas. It is a bit uneven and slightly bent. It would look great framed and also look cool on the wall without a frame. It is about the same size as a typical movie poster frame. The corners are not perfect and are a little chipped, but nothing a frame won't fix. Kellogg Newell was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 15, 1982, the youngest of three siblings, all of whom have gone on to pursue careers in the arts. A self-taught painter currently living in Pittsburgh, he discovered his passion for art at the age of twenty-five, falling in love with the freedom and creative expression it allowed him to experience. His work encompasses both abstract and representational art, much of which carries political and social messages that give his work a decidedly urban feel.
