About The Artwork

There is something about the sweet nature of this Clown that I love. I saw a sweet sadness in the photo of this young man all done up in happy clown makeup. A boy not yet a man but on the edge with real responsibilities pushing up on him, but for just a little while he can be the happy go lucky clown. This was the first painting I created of a clown. I started a series called "The Human Side Of A Clown" which now has 9 paintings in the collection. This painting is full of rich vibrant colors. I realize clowns aren't for everyone, but for those of us who like clowns, this is a great painting and one of my favorites. Original acrylic painting on 24 X 36 gallery wraped canvas with painted sides to match painting. Signed front and back. Piece is lightly varnished. This painting was exhibited at "The Art Location Gallery" in Fayetteville, AR and at my one woman show at Arkansas Laser Solutions in Fayetteville AR on Dec. 18th, 2010. About the artist: Patty Sue O'Hair- Vicknair = PSOVART is well know professinal artist on Facebook and in local galleries in Arkansas. She has sold her works for years around the world and has been collected in Germany, UK, and the US. God Bless and Thank you for taking the time to look at my art & support my art!

Who am I - I am an artist driven by emotion and color. my drive helps with my image choices. I like to explore these forces through bright colorful paintings depicting figures in costume. Clowns and Carnival or Mardi Gras figures often are chosen for subject matter because they lend themselves beautifully to my artistic style. I have been painting for over 40 years. I have built up a reputation among true professional clown and currently portray many of them in either watercolor or acrylic. I also paint abstracts, animals, whatever tickles my fancy. I love a great portrait where the emotion comes through the eyes. I paint mostly in acrylic with glitter accents. My images are bold and bright and light up a room. Fans can find me on my Facebook fan page PS-OV-ART. My work is currently being shown in several galleries, and can be found online by searching for PSOVART. I am currently looking for a galleries in larger cities. I think my work would sell well in a city that has a art vibe and you can feel the creativity in the air.
