About The Artwork

Description: Full title is REQUIEM FOR SISTER FRANCIS LOVE LIES LOSS. This painting is full of passion and expression of how family can tear each other apart by lies and when lies meet love there is always loss. How can blood ties be broken for a small token of money? How can a life of devotion be cast aside for the pleasure of power? How can deceit be a way of life? The lack of an answer to these questions gave life to this painting. The collage was first laid on board then the painting began. During the painting process I stopped at a certain point and slashed the surface randomly with a razor knife without regard to order or possible extreme damage to the piece. Living and working in my studio at my home in Harrisburg, PA

I am an artist seeking to complete a large and valued body of work within my life that will be a source of interest and enjoyment for generations.
I am mostly influenced by color and light modulations which occur in fractal random patterns of nature and the material world. Happiness is a medium I try to make primary in my work and the world close to me the subject. I enjoy and exercise the limitless freedom of modern-day painting and do not impose any "ist" or "ism" upon my decision-making process. My work is personal. Never intended as just a decorative enhancement, but as a small slice of the world I see and feel around me. I was taught at an early age that an artist is one who can see what others only look at. That lesson made a very deep impression upon me and I made that wisdom a guiding light. For a painting to meet my personal standard I must be able to assure myself that each time it is viewed there will be something new to see and enjoy.

My first juryed show acceptance was in 1967 and since then I have worked toward developing my unique style and process for making a painting. Each work is an invention. Completely original, something that does not exist elsewhere in the world and enlightens and brightens the owner's private environment each day. My most recent show participation was at The Attic Gallery, New Delhi India. A group show called MINT GREEN it was well received both in sales and media attention. I was humbled and honored to be one of the many in this show who had works purchased.
