This painting was completed at the end of the summer of 2010 and is a metathesis of the Iphigenia legend, transposed to Bronze-Age Penwith, free from the anachronistic columns and swags favoured by my 19thC predecessors. the figure, modelled by Amanda Hill, conveys the tension between resistance and surrender. The location is the Cornish megalith known as Chun Quoit.
