This painting is part of a series of images sourced from commercial furniture catalogs and advertisements. Through this project, I am attempting to recapture paintings historical function of depicting the middle class home (especially during the 17th century.) I am inspired by painters like Vermeer, Morandi and Robert Bechtle. I hope to represent the beauty, aspirations and impossibility of perfect domestic spaces.
