I realize that True Art must be serious (especially when satirizing itself) and should be pointedly "painterly" and reverently self-referential, hopefully all three at once. I now understand that what the critics have said for decades is gospel: every new twitch or spasm, no matter how silly it seems nor how quickly it's forgotten, actually does "redefine the meaning of art" and also "pushes and/or expands the boundaries of art". But no matter how vast these boundaries become, all are posted with the same warning sign: NO FUN ALLOWED! An homage to the cheesiest B movies I love, particularly THE MILLION EYES OF SUMARU
