Timelock is a painting across 4 panels. Please note that the assembled picture is 102cm x 121.5cm x 2cm and is not surrounded by white canvas area, as the in room display shows it to be. Each panel measures 40cm x 30cm x 2cm. Assembled the panels make up the picture measuring 102cm x 121.5cm x 2cm. The panels ship, unassembled, in a 61cm x 61cm x 15cm crate that weighs 5.33kg. I created this picture after becoming enraptured by the deep history suggested to me by a beautifully made medieval door lock I discovered in an English national Trust property. As a piece of art from a past society as well as a highly engineered, delicately wrought, strong, metal item, the lock suggested the histories that could be said to be locked within it. To present best its elegance and stateliness to the viewer, I felt it would be celebrated more, and its glory shown, portrayed much larger than it actually is via 4 connected panels. All fixings for this are included with a guide for reassembling. Each panel of the picture is individually signed. More presence could also be created by widely separating the panels on a wall. Perhaps an enigma could be presented from an asymmetric arrangement of the panels. The collector will have these 4 panels to display as individual pictures if so desired. The disassembled picture, as 4 panels, will be shipped in a 15 x 61 x 61 cm crate.
