About The Artwork
Medium: acrylic on canvasYear Created: 2005 Painting I am very much interested to combine paintings/drawings with its technical side. Same time, I am very much fascinated to work with urban life, but I am always inspired with beauty of routine objects. Which is relationship of human life and gets established into the more meaning full world of sensitive relationship, ultimately it is all about emotional association of life. Aesthetically too the characteristic aspect of the drawing of the most common object like vessels, tea-cup, match-sticks etc. are very satisfying and the perspective value takes me very deep into the paintings with their volume designs. So, my subject is generally day-to-day life and in that matter I am working on sensitive still-life manner. My basic interest is to connect my work with contemporary art scenarios and culture. I want to establish visual art as its vibrant play in human relationship.

He has won several Awards such as NATIONAL AWARD, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (2011), The Art Society of India award, Mumbai (2011), Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy award (1973, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007 & 2010), AIFACS award (2003 & 2007), Selected prize, International Biennial Print & Drawing, Taiwan (2006), South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur (2004 & 2005), Bombay Art Society Award (2003 & 2004), Camlin Art Foundation award, Mumbai (2000) and more. He is also the recipient of Senior Fellowship in visual art (painting), Ministry of Culture, Government of India (2006-2008). He has exhibited extensively in India and abroad and participated in numerous National and International workshops, Art Camps and Projects. He had many solo shows in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, USA and more than 45 group shows to his credit. His work has also been selected at 13th Asian Art Biennial, Dhaka (2008), International Print Biennial, Taiwan (2006), Salon D' Autumn, Paris (2004), Egyptian International Print Triennial (1999 & 2003) and more. He lives and works in Ahmedabad (India).
