An exchange or a terminus of buses and train. The noise. Pepsi Billboard. A market. Sea of heads.Humanity.
The more you look, the less you see. Of course the yellow buses of Lagos public transportation.
Here I was at almost dusk taking the people of a place called Oshodi on the Lagos Mainland of Lagos in Nigeria.
Let me quickly say that this picture was taken in late 2001 and it was just around 2010 that the present governor of Lagos state felt, enough was enough; the place was a major road and traffic must flow.
So the picture literarily and metaphorically has changed for free flowing traffic with private vehicles finding space to drive through. It is now neater. Now one can find a foot hold with orderliness.
I took this picture on assignment for my work for the Documenta 11, Kassel, Germany.
