Photography: Black & White on Paper.
MY SLOW LONELY LIFE, museum quality art photography.
Abandoned old houses and small farms are today a common view around the Finnish countryside. This piece has taken near Pirttikoski, a small village in the Finnish Lapland. It portraits the desolation of the countryside. My Slow Lonely Life speaks of the good old days, the nostalgy of the down-to-earth lifestyle when people were more connected to the nature. It has a quite universal meaning since the same phenomenom is happening all around the world. Limited edition guarantees that you won't find this solitary Lappish landscape from every home.
Photo collage mixing analog and digital photography.
The photo paper:
LightJet print on Ilford baryta paper 315g/m². The paper is the most durable photo paper worldwide and outstanding at combining brilliant white with intense black tones. The shades of grey are nuanced, the contours extremely sharp. The developing process on baryta paper combines LightJet by Océ with a silver halide development.
The visible evidence of the hands-on craftsmanship is seen on these photographs! Due to the elaborate developing and rinsing process, the baryta paper can not be made in millimetre-exact. That makes each print unique one-of-a-kind photographic art.
The print has white borders 3 cm width so it's easy to frame with passe-partout.
46 x 46 cm (outer dimensions)
40 x 40 cm (image size)
Edition of 8 + 2 ap.
This piece has been presented at my solo shows and numerous curated joint exhibitions around Finland.
