This project is about pain, love and separation and that in fact separation does not exist. I asked my models to look at the sun and think about someone they have lost, but who still remains the most wonderful person in the world, remains their "sunshine". It hurts to look at the sun as much as it hurts to think about something so dear to your heart that has irrevocably gone. The sun is beautiful and so is the person you have lost. They make your life complete. It is the moment of reconciliation and finding, forgiveness and tenderness, when pain turns into joy. Luba, a friend of mine, told me that as a child she used to believe that the sun was a hole in the sky. A hole leading to a wonderland filled with light. She thought that we were just shadows, and there were our antipodes inhabiting that place, beautiful creatures made of sunshine. Or maybe even our reflections, perfect us, with no flaws or errors. And if you look into this hole long enough you might see these solar people or even become one of them.
