About The Artwork
In my journey I walked at night with my camera and tripod through my old neighborhood. I tried to find my memories through foreign objects, other people houses ,color and light. I couldn’t find my childhood or myself because I didn’t remember any memory; so I started to investigate my memory through places. Everyday locations and objects now relate to childhood memories. I prefer to create a fiction in my mind of what my memory could be like rather than the actual thing. This project was featured in Saatchi Gallery as a finalist in the Google photography prize 2012.

Dana Stirling is a Still Life and fine arts photographer born in Jerusalem, Israel, and based in Queens, NY. She has an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in Photography, Video, and Related Media (expected 2016) and a BA from Hadassah College Jerusalem in Photographic Communications (2013). Dana's work has been exhibited Internationally which includes Fresh Paint Art Fair in Tel Aviv, UNICEF Next Generation Photo Benefit at Aperture Foundation, “A Process - Der Greif” in Neue Galerie, Höhmannhaus ,Germany, google photography Prize at Saatchi Gallery, London UK, Brick Lane Gallery, London UK and Tel Hai Museum of Photography Israel. Some press includes the Lensculture Blog, Aint Bad 'from here on' book, All the best Alice 2015, A process exhibition book and Israel Hayom Newspaper. Dana has received such awards and scholarships as the Google Photography Prize Finalist (2012), Gross Foundation grant for excellency in photography (2013) and the Weizmann institue scholarship for outstanding student achievement (2011).
