Television, is part of a large series of images called Wordstock. "Wordstock" is a mother-daughter collaboration created over a period of fifteen years. The work features text by the words of celebrated poet and novelist Alba Ambert and accompanying images by photographer Yanira Ambert, that speak to the human condition and social issues that have come to define our culture. Wordstock is counter-seduction, an act of aesthetic rebellion that intends to seduce the viewer with words and images with strong meaning. Wordstock captivates the senses and the intellect. This stock of words and images links vigorous visual imagery to the deep meaning and power of language. This is the second collaboration; the previous one was an exhibition titled "Habito tu Nombre," based on Alba's poetry, which won the Bienal Internacional de Fotografia in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1998 and was exhibited at the El Sur gallery in NYC later that year.
