Tereza Buskova (b.1978, Prague) is a Czech artist who lives in London, having completed her Fine Art Printmaking MA at the Royal College of Art in 2007. Her intuitive practices capture and renew folk traditions through the combination of filmmaking, screen printing and performance. Whilst Tereza has established strong working relationships with an important circle of artists it is Zoe Simon who always models as the key protagonist, and perhaps her alter ego. Since her graduation from the RCA Buskova has been exhibited by David Robert and Anita Zabludowicz. She has been selected for competitive showcase exhibitions of fast rising emerging artists including Future50 and MurmurArt. As well as receiving sponsorship from a number of generous art collectors, the Arts Council UK have provided grants for two of her past projects; 'Spring Equinox' 2009 and "˜Masopust' 2010. She has exhibited in a broad range of different spaces including a billboard print installation amongst the ancient flora of Chambers Farm Wood for the Lincoln Art Programme. For the celebration of the Olympics, Buskova was selected as a key emerging Czech artist living in the UK for the exhibition Coal and Steel 2012. It was organised by the Czech Foreign Office, and toured both London and Prague. She will take part in an experimental improvisation led group show in Manchester's Bureau Gallery this Autumn. Currently Buskova works towards a group exhibition "˜Monoculture' in collaboration with Tamsyn Challenger and Matthew Cowan at the Beaconsfield London, starting this November. For this show she will travel to the village of her adolescent holidays to create the "˜Baked Woman of Doubice'.
