About The Artwork

Description: Muslim Aeronautics and Space Administration (MASA) This ceremonial astronauts helmet is adapted to pay homage to the bearded Mullah. As one of the fastest growing religions worldwide, Islam has yet to conquer the outer reaches of space. There have to date been several Muslim (male and female) astronauts. But we have yet to see a predominantly Muslim state with a full blown space program of their own. Iran will perhaps be the first? Medium: Stoneware, steel, plastics Year Created: 2010

Born 1970, London England. MFA from The Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO). My current work deals with industrial products from distopian futures; space helmets designed for religious expansion in space, and bomb suits tailored for the mundane acts of shopping and child`s play in a future society gone bad.
