Images of WORK IN PROGRESS (features multiple molded thermoplastic resin babies. Flower (different colours) stems attached to umbilical of baby (different ethnicities) and in a test tube vase set up in 4 x 1msq floor panels that are contoured and covered in astro turf. Statement: This piece talks about the nurturing and growth of life, and its fragility and vulnerability. The test tube like vases have echoes of the process of IVF and suggests thought about notions of instant gratification, commercialization, and cloning. The babies, floating in life’s elixir, are peaceful and asleep, waiting calmly to be plucked, and in that moment beginning their own end.
