SODA gallery SODA gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Bratislava, located in the Old Town in one of the distinctive entry spaces of historical buildings of this area. SODA gallery presents the very best and the most interesting young art on the slovak market. With its location on the Konventná 3, SODA gallery is integrated into the emerging "gallery district" in Bratislava which is defined by the area around Hodžovo sqaure - the streets Staromestská, Kozia and Palisády. The idea to establish a gallery came from the striking absence of spaces devoted to the presentation of the young art scene and our aspiration to change this. SODA gallery stands up for the young artists, provides them with valuable space to realize their own projects and conceptions, offers an ideal environment for meetings and mutual confrontation, enables the presentation of brand new art to the public. The exhibition program is oriented at delivering diversity in media, therefore the visitor has the possibility to see artpieces ranging from paintings, graphic arts, drawings, sculptures to conceptual art and installations. In the autumn of 2010, the gallery entered its second exhibition season, leaving behind thirteen successful exhibitions realized in the previous year. During this period, SODA gallery collaborated with a number of renowned artists but also helped the llesser known ones enter the slovak art scene. The last realized exhibition in the SODA gallery was the exhibition "ž"BEST OFF", that was also the very first international one - introducing the young czech painter Jan Vytiska, this being his first solo exhibition in Slovakia. The year 2010 will be closed with the second volume of the highly successful christmas exhibition "Christmas bestseller. Last year's participants were students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, as well as many influential names such as Michal Czinege, Maija Laurinen, Juliana Mrvová, Rastislav Sedlačík, Erik Å ille and others. An interesting fact about the gallery is the unconventional fusion with the architecture studio "SODA studio" and the high-end online design shop "SODA shop", which creates space for new events and activities. This multi-creative platform provides an unconventional space for dialogue, sharing of knowledge and ideas in the areas of architecture, fine arts and visual communication.
