Growing up, my family put an emphasis on art from the beginning. Though both of my parents are artists, my father, an architect, focused on structure, precision and symmetry while my mother, a musician and a painter, was more free-flowing and expressive. The duality of these qualities are tied into my work both on canvas and on silk.
My inspiration often derives from original and inspiring people I know in my life. What they make of their own situation, the space they live in, their humor, their origins, their personal style.
I hope to create work that represents the original soul that we so often stray from. One that has the space, depth and the creative freedom to be completely whole on its own, all within our natural confines. Through the use of chemistry and the overlapping and bleeding of color, my work captures restriction in an infinite field.
