About Nelum Jay
I cannot remember a time when I wasn't involved in producing some kind of art or photography. I came over to England from Sri Lanka at the age of 20yrs. Back home I remember following my dad who was a professional photographer everywhere and use to hang around the studios quite a lot. At the age of 15 I started painting in watercolour and acrylics. When I ran out of paper or canvas, I painted on the back of old rolls of wallpaper. I was very lucky to have a daughter who liked my work.In the early 90's I started experimenting with digital art, combining my love of Photography with new fangled computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Fire works and Illustrator. Since then I have designed artwork and photography for a cafe in Pimlico.I am inspired by my intense emotions and by the ridiculous. I love the idea that something can appear very important, but actually be pointless, the world is a very serious place and I feel it is my duty to do what I can to change that, one piece of art work, at a time.
Self thought Artist & Photographer.
