Nuala O'Donovan was born in Cork City, Ireland in 1962. She studied for a BA(Hons) in 3D Design at Middlesex University, U.K. and an MA in ceramics at the Crawford College of art and Design in Cork.She spent a number of years living and working abroad and currently lives in Cork, Ireland.
I make sculptural ceraic pieces. the work is based on patterns from natural forms such as plants, seeds and corals. I am interested in the geometry of natural forms and combine patterns which are based on regular or classical geometry with forms based on the characteristics of irregular or fractal geometry.
