Pasiewicz Peter - born in 1979 in Łódź.
Creativity in the graphics workshop, drawing, performance, videoart and short film forms.In 2011received the scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
He had a lot of collective and individual exhibitions,
including their works exhibited in the Palace of Scheibler, in the Museum of Cinematography in Lodz, Art. Book Museum in Lodz, Manhattan Gallery, Gallery of Rondo, during the V-th Festival of Dialogue of Four Cultures, Fourth International Animation Festival First Aid, at the Institute of History of Art in Wroclaw and Lodz, Lodz City Hall and Fabricum .
In his actions he consistently creates a world in which the metaphysical shapes are formed in a spontaneous act of creativity. Is fascinated by oppositions with are exclusing and can’t functioning eatch other in the same time. Peter Pasiewicz „creates some universe whitch is incomming from themselves and which is subject to constant transformation." By the suggestive gestures creates bold and dark paintings, where the dead gives birth to alive, flexibility transforms fossilization to throw again in a moment the established character. The only constant is the variability and attempt to illustrate the subjective of visual experience.
The ups and downs of a young artist
Being young isn't that easy. The label 'young artist' should be used with extreme
cere. It implies a certain disrespect, and perhaps we should refain from criticism, as
the 'young artist' is surely somewhat inexperienced and needs to be made allowances
for. Piort Pasiewicz doesn't fit the stereotype of the 'young artist'. In spite of the high
praise he has received for his art, he continues to work with the same fierce passion.
What distinguishes him from his peers is his fresh observatios and approach to his work.
Yes, it's true. It's not easy for an artist to cultivate honesty and yet subtly inject
themselves into their works without being accused of being a 'dauber'. Perhaps this is
why all too often nowadays, artists do not like their work, and have difficulty giving it
their all. They do it, basically, because they have to do something, day in day out, till it
becomes like any other 'job'. Piotr doesn't have this attitude. Perhaps because he is
not formally schooled in the medium, and therefore does not suffer from imposed ideas
or constrictions; his is a natural talent.
He has been working steadily for the last five years, and thus far has maaged quite
successfully to balance his work o the fine-line between the challenging and the urbane.
He's honest without obligation. However, we won't literally hear his confession here,
(if you are interested in them, you would do best by speaking to him directly). Piotr's
confessional is camouflaged, within the lines of his work as if it were the thickest forest.
The lines intermingle, cross each other, and dance in circles, only to move apart in the end,
as if trying to say something, to give us a sign, then to deny it by obliterating the trail.
Viewer-it's time to begin chasing the scent.
Another feature of Piotr's work-in both the large and the small pieces- is that they
may represent, or more accurately- according to the artist-illustrate specific events.
The may even simply be symbols of nothing in particular, in other words you may just
see them as abstract drawings-and this is equally good, and certainly doesn't detract
from their worth.
Piotr's work has a real beauty, which evokes feelings of awe and delight, but also, or more simply,
they're lovely and make us feel comfortable. In fact they're very likeable-always well balaced,
with nice planing and rhythm- never too many or too few elements.
The composition is filled with arcs, drawn with the greates dexterity, yet you can see ho does
not use any draughtsman's instrument. This gives them character and warmth.
These works are made with the viewer i mind. Although this might seem obvious,like a truism,
there are many artists whose works merely try to shock, titillate, and to disgust. Piotr's work does just the opposite; they allow us to gain some distance from the real world. The inspiration gained from this distance, allows them to live somewhere where in the realm of poetry. The setting for his works is an ordinary scene; where there are numerous portraits, landscapes, scenes where hauses overlap streets, animals are bigger than the furniture, and the outside mixes with the inside. Yet all of this has nothing to do with some kind of abstract 'work of art'; an ambitious but uninspiring piece taught to us from textbooks,
instead his work is spontaneous, at once happy and then sad-just like their author.
Even if they become a kind of personal diary, everyone can find his or her own stories within Piotr's drawings.
Drawing is Piotr's handwriting, with which he describes his state of mind, moods, or just ideas.
Oversized home furniture, animals acting like humans, and the few humans (who are small in stature);
are all wrapped in certain sense of melancholy. It's a little reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.
From under this light blanket of blue, sneaks hope and a curiosity about the world.
Piotr has his own definite style, and he creates because his heart needs to do so.
He always seems to draw his inner self, without succumbing to exhibitionism.
