Mike Unwin is a self taught artist with interests in photography and contemporary art. As a young adult his artistic focus was on street photography, which is when his unscripted life journey began. During his 20's he travelled, worked and lived in such places as London, New York, Sydney and Cape Town where his pastime was the pursuit of photographing 'life' and graffiti art. Mike enjoyed the technical aspects of urban photography but became fascinated with the 'beautiful-ugly' quality to modern street art that litters the concrete canvas. The artworks, colour palette and ingenuity he saw on the streets inspired Mike to paint and he soon turned his attention to painting his own urban and abstract art. Mike has since returned to the UK and settled in Cornwall, and has been working as an artist and photographer for the last three years, during which time he has had success in America, Australia and Europe. Mike has a passion for contemporary art and is just as likely to paint a large geometric abstract piece on canvas as he is an urban art spray paint design on exotic paper. Mike uses the pseudonym 'Sanscript' for urban art projects.
