About Riccardo Gusmaroli
Riccardo Gusmaroli was born in Verona in 1963, but he lives and works in Milan.
His work for Vogue and Elle as a photographer of architecture and still life influence his artistic production, from 1990 period which begins in collaboration with the gallery Toselli in Milan. In some of his work we find the theme of photography. It is not the usual artistic image, but sometimes it almost disappears, covered by a thousand signs and subtle features colorful, to reappear as a form of plastic, almost sculptural. The freedom with which he ranges in the choice of materials and surfaces that uses is surprising, but not random: stamps, maps of all cities ", maps and whorls of BIAC and white boats that travel once again with imaginary routes impossible, are the result of associations, feelings and connections arising from the materials themselves. The pace and stretch, common to all its work, helping to reshape and redefine a new world where the art once again is a vehicle of communication.
For some years cooperates intensively with Toselli Gallery, Tega Gallery, Sperone Westwater Gallery, Ermanno Tedeschi Gallery.
