About Tracie Cowles Hise
I am a painter living and working in the foothills of North Carolina with my husband and two beautiful daughters. I have studied art, engineering, and am a practicing nurse, but it's mixing a bold, saturated palette that motivates my life. As a painter, I am influenced by Paul Cézanne, Alex Katz, and Henri Matisse. Using inanimate and animated subject matter to paint, I interpret my surroundings and experiences as a wife and mother. My palette is bold and bright indicative and representative of the full life I feel I am living. I hope to offer the viewer a thoughtful and new experience when observing my work.
