Anne Scheer

My most recent work evolved from living on an island in Maine. Seeing water as a verb, I discovered the specialized life in the many intertidal zones and began to see that zone as a microcosm, a minature version challenges that climatic change was imposing on earth. My fascination grew with the manmade plastics and refuse showing up and becoming part of the tidal landscape. A residency on a freshwater lake extended my interest in the significance of water in our lives.
