Ana Ohm

She was born in Montevideo,URUGUAY in 1975.She plays with sound. Her projects are related to the hidden dialogs between vibrations and forms.She uses different kind of sound fonts and methods. "Tendra un interes cultural especifico determinar las aproximaciones entre los objetos artisticos y los instrumentos cientificos, entre la intuicion del artista y el pensamiento objetivo del fisico o del ingeniero. Pero desde el punto de vista estetico, la obra empieza a interesar, precisamente, por lo que hay en ella que trasciende esas aproximaciones exteriores: por el universo de significaciones existenciales que ella, al mismo tiempo, amalgama y revela."Fragmento del Manifiesto Neoconcreto, Ferreira Gullar, 1959."Beethoven no perdio la audicion, perdio la vision. Son los pintores, cuyos trabajos cuelgan en las silenciosas bovedas de los museos, quienes perdieron su audicion.Para el nio de 5 aos la vida es arte y el arte es vida. La experiencia es para el un fluido caleidoscopico y sinestesico... Separamos los sentidos con el fin de desarrollar agudezas especificas y una apreciacion disciplinada... Pero una separacion total y sostenida de los sentidos concluye en una fragmentacion de la experiencia... Me gustaria que consideremos una vez ...

She has a degree in Mass Communication Sciences, she studied Sound Design and she has made Radio (post-degree) studies at the Official Institute of the Spanish Radio Television network (RTVE).In 2003 she started the Soundscape Montevideo Project, which has obtained the support of the National Music Fund in the year 2004.Since 2005 she has been developing some research projects on bio-acoustic field.In November of 2005, she was invited to take part in Forma y Sonido organized by the National School of Music, the Goethe Institute of Montevideo, and the National School of Fine Arts. In such event, she showed a serie of pieces created only with sonic vibration, where it was possible to \\\\\\\"see the sound\\\\\\\".During september and october of 2006, she was showing her work in \\\\\\\"Espacio y Frecuencia\\\\\\\", a big sound art exhibition, at National Museum of Visual Arts.
